DUTIES

The board is responsible for the planning, oversight, and evaluation of workforce training and services in the 12 county areas. This Board assumed responsibility for Job Training Partnership Act (JTPA) funds, as well as the CHOICES/TANF program, the Food Stamp Employment and Training Program, One-Stop Career Center Development, planning of Employment Services, and Child Care Management System Funds.

COMPOSITION

The representation will be in accordance with federal and state laws. The membership is composed of not less than 28 members and no more than 34; including representatives of educational agencies, literacy organizations, organized labor, rehabilitation agencies, community based organizations, economic development agencies, public assistance agency and public employment service.

CREATION & AUTHORITY

Section 102 and 103 of the Job Training Partnership Act of 1982.
