Biography
Constable Oscar Mendoza, Jr attended Robstown High School. The Mendoza family owned and operated two successful businesses in the city: Robstown Meat Market and Pete's Bar-B-Que, which were then located at 114 e. Ave. A.
In 1991, Constable Oscar Mendoza, Jr began his law enforcement career working under the late Constable Johnny Calderon as deputy assigned to bike patrol duty. He continued his law enforcement service as a deputy and a narcotics investigator while Mike Roldan held the office. Constable Dionicio Ysassi was elected in 2009 and appointed the Precinct 5 Sergeant position to Oscar Mendoza, Jr for four years.
In 2013, Oscar Mendoza Jr transferred to Precinct 3 and was promoted to Chief Deputy for the City of Bishop for six months.
In November 2020, Oscar Mendoza, Jr was elected and became Constable for Nueces County Precinct 5 and took office on January 1, 2021.
Description of Office
- Serves as a licensed peace officer and performs various law enforcement functions, including issuing traffic citations.
- Serves warrants and civil papers such as subpoenas and temporary restraining orders.
- Serves as bailiff for Justice of the Peace Court.
